It’s ENERGY!
Energy, the basis of life, can exist only if it is codified, in which state it can be considered information. This means that it must assume a form, a coherent spatio-temporal entity-event, which is physical and/or conceptual in nature.
Substitute “energy” for Nietzsche “god” (his “god” is Lucifer), and read:
“Energy as the supreme artist, amoral, recklessly creating and destroying, realizing itself indifferently in whatever it does or undoes, ridding itself by its acts of the embarrassment of it’s riches and the strain of its internal contradictions. Thus, the world was made to appear, at every instant, as a successful solution of Energy’s own tensions, as an ever new vision projected by that grand sufferer for whom illusion is the only possible mode of redemption.” (The Birth of Tragedy and The Geneology of Morals, 1956, N.Y., 9-10)
Such is the nature of energy. There is no essentialist teleological goal; there is only the desire of energy to exist.
Veriable, contrary, and hierarchical codes, interlocking and isolate codal networks – they all work for the SEMIOSIS of ENERGY, for its transformation into those brief breaths of life, signs, or events-of-information.
Dynamic codification established a World Wide Web of habitual interactional bonds that persuits continuity of semiosis; thermodynamic codification established heterogeneous variation.
We, in our blind egocentrism, have considered that these Internet powers are all for our sake, to develop us as supreme masters of the earth: we have drawn many maps and diagrams that show a linear evolution.
Of course, we are wrong; it has nothing to do with us.

Semiosis has nothing to say with any clarity; it does not dictate the nature of form, it merely permits its existence.
Energy is only interested in those networks that ensure semiosis, the on-going production of SEMA, signs.

The cost for human species of being the special SEMA of energy, has been that humans are cognizant of their fate as transient semiosic events.

Sorry, dear Eliot, you haven’t been quiet enough in the darkness of your time and your family-life for a self-transcendation of the primary agapastic desire in AGAPE – to the solution-energy of Eternal Love within the Divine Will, the Free Will, of a diaphanous consciousness beyond semiosis!
